Ducting

DURASTEEL^® is highly resistant to moisture even when saturated. It will not absorb combustible fluids such as cooking oil in kitchen extract systems and its fire resistant properties are exceptional.

Tested to BS476 part 24:1987 the range of ducts available provide stability, integrity, and insulation for up to 240 minutes. It has been tested as both a type A duct (External fire exposure) and type B duct (Internal fire exposure).

Our SMT systems are constructed by the fabrication of a steel frame which is then encased in a single layer of 9.5mm DURASTEEL^® sheet. The sheet is fixed to the frame using self-drilling screws at 300mm maximum centres, bedded onto a bead of intumescent mastic.

Our LT systems consist of a galvanised steel inner duct over boarded with 6mm thick DURASTEEL^® and finishing trim angles.

DURASTEEL^® ductwork can also be constructed as two, three or four sided. It can also be constructed on or off site. This can be used to save time, space and material costs where applicable.

DURASTEEL^® systems have been used successfully across the industry for many years including rail and metro projects, kitchen extract, smoke extract, commercial warehouses as well as pharmaceutical and petrochemical facilities. These systems are also approved by EDF for use within transformer rooms.
