R&S Fire and Security Ltd have recently secured the contract for the fire protection package associated with Digital Realty Cressex Data Centre in High Wycombe.

 The works were secured through R&S Fire and Security ltd, offering the truly complete package of both Active & Passive systems. This capability separated R&S from all its competitors and was recognised by the client as a great benefit in time and coordination.

 The two large fire rated Data Halls, each in the region of 22m x 48m x 4.1m high were constructed using the Promat DURAWALL^® pre finished composite panel system. The construction of these data halls includes ceilings, doors and service penetration sealing offering a complete approved and certified installation.

 The Fire Detection system has been based on the proven track record of Edwards GE products proposed for install throughout the data centre along with our High Pressure Water Mist Solution (Aqua Mist) as protection within both data halls at high & low level (under the floor) with all infrastructure plant areas 17 in total benefiting from this protection.

The design has been based on a pre-action type solution whereby the operation of 2 smoke detectors is required prior to water being release into the pipework of the activated zone valve this in readiness should any quick release glass bulb break.

 Our newly acquired client Mitie Technology & infrastructure Ltd have been involved within the Data Centre/Technology market for sometime, on average Mitie carry out around six projects of a similar ilk every year supporting high profile companies such as IBM & Digital Realty Trust whom on this particular project is the ultimate client.  DRT, owns, acquires, repositions and manages technology-related properties.
